Terms & Conditions.
Last updated: 31 May 2026. Please read these terms carefully before booking a lesson.
This is a plain-English summary of our terms and should be reviewed by a qualified legal adviser before publication.
1. Introduction
These terms apply to all lessons and services provided by Legato Academy ("we", "us"), a piano tuition studio based in Cardiff, Wales. You can reach us at hello@legato.academy. By booking a lesson you agree to these terms.
2. Lesson Bookings
Lessons are arranged by enquiry or trial booking and confirmed by us in writing. A trial lesson lets both student and teacher decide whether to continue; ongoing lessons are then scheduled in a regular slot, in person in Cardiff or online.
3. Cancellation & Rescheduling
Please give as much notice as possible if you need to cancel or rearrange. Lessons cancelled with reasonable notice can usually be rescheduled where the timetable allows; lessons missed without notice may not be refunded. We'll confirm the exact notice period with you on enrolment.
4. Payment
Lessons are paid per term or per lesson, as agreed at enrolment. No card or financial details are collected on this website — payment is arranged directly and separately. Fees are due as invoiced; persistent late payment may pause lessons.
5. Code of Conduct
We ask students and parents/guardians to be punctual, respectful and prepared, and to use shared materials responsibly. We are committed to providing a positive, encouraging learning environment in return.
6. Safeguarding & Welfare
The welfare of young students is our priority. A parent or guardian provides consent for any student under 18 and is responsible for supervision arrangements, including for online lessons. Safeguarding details are available on request.
7. Liability
Nothing in these terms limits liability where it cannot lawfully be limited. Otherwise, our liability is limited to the fees paid for the affected lessons, and we are not responsible for loss or damage that was not reasonably foreseeable.
8. Intellectual Property
Lesson materials, notes and recordings we provide remain our intellectual property and are for the student's personal learning use only.
9. Changes to These Terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The latest version is always published here, with the "last updated" date shown above.
10. Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and any disputes fall under the jurisdiction of its courts.
