When we teach.
Plan your year with us. Here's how our terms, breaks and key performance dates are shaped — exact dates are confirmed each year and when you enrol.
We follow a three-term academic year, broadly in step with the Cardiff school calendar. Lessons pause for school holidays and bank holidays, and we share precise dates with students at the start of each year. If you join mid-term, we'll simply pro-rata your lessons to the weeks remaining.
Autumn Term
Early September to mid-December, with a week's break at half-term in late October. The term closes with our end-of-year student concert.
Spring Term
Early January to the end of March, with a half-term break in mid-February. This is the main window for spring exam entries and festival preparation.
Summer Term
Mid-April to mid-July, with a half-term break in late May, building towards summer recitals and exam sessions.
Key Dates
Student recitals — termly performances in Cardiff venues; dates announced to students in advance.
Exam sessions — ABRSM, Trinity and LCM run across the year; we align preparation to each board's published windows.
Competition windows — local and national festival dates vary annually; contest students receive a tailored schedule.
Exact dates for the current year are confirmed on enrolment.
